Sorry that I haven’t been around. I took two days off work so I could have a 4 day weekend. I planned on having fun with the family and then getting caught up on some of the things that have been gnawing at me.
Thursday the family went to the amusement park. A great time was had by all.
Friday I did get my son’s dependent ID card updated and made a stop at the commissary while I was at the base. That trip cost more than the amusement park, but the freezer’s full.
Saturday tried to repair a two way radio that died; it works until I put it back into the case, then it reverts to being an inert collection electronic parts. I figured it was time to quit that effort and mow the lawn. The lawn tractor promptly died. I think it’s due to old gasoline – the ethanol in gas makes it less stable when stored over the winter. However, I backed away from everything mechanical or electrical before I broke anything else. Instead I helped my daughter with my her science project, due on Monday. That went well.
Today I went to church and we finished the science project. It’s now time for soccer and then family dinner.
I filed for an extension on the income tax. Figured I’d really mess that up if I finished it today.
The lesson – when I’m focusing on the family, things work. When I try to be productive, things don’t. I think I’m being told what my priorities should be.
